New Blog and 30 Day Meme

So I’ve had so many blogs in my adult life (only because blogs didn’t exist when I was a kid….how weird is it to admit that?) I’m can recall six so far, making this one my seventh.  😉

So I found this 30 day meme thing on my friend’s LiveJournal.  The object of it is to post something every day for 30 days to your blog, with topic starters.  I thought this might be an excellent way to get me back into blogging again.  So here goes… 🙂

Day 01 — Your favourite song

My favorite song changes quite often.  New artists and albums are released every day.  Not to mention genres are reborn bringing new sound to our ears.  The songs that are my favorites right now have got to be Michael Buble’s “Haven’t Met You Yet” and David Crowder Band’s “How He Loves”.

“Haven’t Met You Yet” is an ode to the single person just waiting and believing for “The One”.  You may or may not have met that person that you’re destined to spend the rest of your life with, you just don’t know it.  The way the honest lyrics flow from Michael’s crooning voice is comforting.

“And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You’ll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I’ll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven’t Met You Yet”

This gives hope to the heart yearning to be united with their soul mate.  I long for that day. But I also desire for it to be a God sanctioned union of the heart, soul, mind and body.

Now why do I love DC*B “How He Loves Us”?  Well I originally heard this song sometime a year or two ago.  At the time, the line involving “sloppy wet kiss” just bothered me to no end….basically because God isn’t sloppy and He does everything out of perfection, so why would any kind of emotion or expression of His love be sloppy? This was of course the original lyrics written by a gentleman with a heart that loves God. A second compilation was done by the angelic Kim Walker, whose rough with emotion voice pulled at the heartstrings. :*)  But the day I heard David Crowder*Band belt out “How He Loves Us, OH How HE LOVES US” I fell in love again with my Savior.  The raw and real feeling emanating from their hearts was pure delight.  I seriously stop what I’m doing every time I hear it because it just transports me to the feet of my Savior, unable to remain upright in my soul.

“He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.”

These afflictions that are spoken of are all the things that seem so traumatizing and debilitating in our lives.  But really…it is only a fleeting moment in our lives…in eternity…and then it is replaced by His wondrous glory. His unimaginable love for us.  A love that we don’t deserve…a love that we’ve fought against through all of time.  And yet, He is persistent in His desire to love us.  How amazing.  Awe-some.  Beyond comprehension.

That is why I love this song.  It’s a daily…often times, hourly, reminder of His enduring love for me.
